| | | | | | | Hywire Ltd. | | | | | HyWire, established in August 1999, is a fabless manufacturer of components to be used as search and classification engines in high-end routers and LAN switches. Routers are used in the nodes of the Internet backbone, while LAN switches are widely used by enterprises. Currently, the number of packets a router can process in a given time limits the growth of the Internet and the ability to apply advanced services to it, such as quality of service, billing, security etc. Current solutions are unable to meet the future demand for more bandwidth, leaving HyWire’s technology in a unique position to address these needs (a fast, small, cheap & low-power solution). HyWire was founded by Mr. Moshe Stark (former head of Intel-Israel R&D center and former manager of MMC Networks’ R&D center that was acquired by AMCC for $4.5B). Infineon (a Siemens communication components & semiconductor subsidiary) is a partner and a strategic investor. A partial list of HyWire’s potential customers includes Cisco, Juniper, Nortel, Alcatel & Lucent.
